Word on the street is a Jonathan Adler is opening a Minneapolis post in the space above Ragstock in Uptown.

The home furniture and accessories designer has yet to make an announcement, and both the building owner and leasing agent are keeping mum about who the new tenant is, only saying a lease has been signed.

However, the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal reported that Jonathan Adler has been looking for a space on Lake Street. Job postings on the company’s website reference managers and sales associates are needed for a Minneapolis store “coming soon.” A CraigsList ad for the same jobs state the store will be on Lake Street.

If a Jonathan Adler store opened an Uptown spot, it would be a big score for the neighborhood. Staying true to his motto, “If your heirs won’t fight over it, we won’t make it,” Adler has designed furniture and home accessories that have become collectors’ items.

The upscale American designer is especially known for his pottery, not to mention a knack for folding poppy colors and prints into his retro-inspired, contemporary designs. They range from dinnerware to lamps and rugs to ottomans.

Currently, the nearest Jonathan Adler store is in Chicago. Adler has been expanding his reach and accesibility as of late. This month, he partnered with Cottonelle to launch three chic, limited-edition toilet roll covers that were advertised nationally during NFL games and prime time. More and more Jonathan Adler pieces are starting to pop up locally, including at Patina stores, which currently stocks Adler’s porcelain travel mugs for $14 and dog scarves for $16.
